Total Hip Replacement. From the first consultation up to my 6 week post op consult, Mr Longstaff and his support staff have been faultless. At each step of the process, the risks and benefits of my surgery were explained in an easy to understand manner. Mr Longstaff listened to my activity history, my future physical aims and used the information to suggest the best replacement for me to continue my very active lifestyle. I have followed all the advice given by the surgeon and physios, and have been pain free since the surgery. I am getting stronger every day and enjoy my active life again. A massive thank you to Mr Longstaff and all the staff at the Spire Washington.

Mr Longstaff has just completed a reconstruction of my left hip. Before surgery I was in tremendous pain every day and unable to walk any distance at all. At every appointment I was informed of the procedure that would take place and the risks that were involved including the risks from Covid 19. I found him easy to talk to and also easy to understand the work he was about to carry out. I came out of hospital on the seventh day walking without pain but also taking great care of how much weight I placed on my new hip. I am into my third week and have just returned from hospital after my first appointment with Mr Longstaff. He talked me through my operation and x-rays which I found Incredible at the amount of work he had carried out to repair my hip. I will be forever grateful for the excellent work he has done. Mr Longstaff and his team performed right knee replacement surgery on me on Dec14th 2020 at the Washington Spire Hospital . The procedure was done as a NHS patient and was a total success , I was discharged the next day after less than 24hrs in Hospital. My recovery to normal is well on target and well within expected medical and physiotherapy expectations. The care and treatment that I received at the Washington Spire from pre med, CV19 test, Anasthasia , post op aftercare, and physiotherapy were of the highest professional standards. My condition continues to improve and I would recommend Mr Longstaff and the Washington Spire to anyone contemplating Knee replacement.

I recently had a total hip replacement carried out by Mr. Longstaff. I was treated with the utmost respect and immediately felt in "good hands". He is a good listener with excellent communication skills, and obviously very organised because he is always on time! I felt my life had been transformed, having forgotten what it was like to walk normally and not to have any pain. I had a quick recovery and am extremely grateful to him.
